Lobuche East Peak Climbing is an excellent time to escape the bustling environment and hop on the riveting and amusing mountain climbing experiences. Standing at an altitude of 6119m above sea level, Lobuche East is one of the famous peaks and is relatively easier to climb. It is located in the Khumbu region of the northeastern part of Nepal near Everest Base Camp. It is very close to the village of Lobuche and the trekking part of Lobuche East Peak Climbing follows the trails of Everest Base Camp Trek. Being not too difficult, Lobuche East Peak Climbing can be done by beginners as well but through some proper preparations.

Itineraries

Day 01

Kathmandu Arrival

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu Airport, our team representing us will pick you up and drop you at your hotel. You will take some time to rejuvenate at the hotel by resting and freshening up.

Once you feel good, you will go nearby for a brief walk. Later in the evening, we will meet you at the dinner hosted by our team. Along with Nepalese cuisine, we will introduce ourselves too. You will return to the hotel afterward for the night.

Day 02

Trip Preparation and Kathmandu Sightseeing

The following day, we will meet again at our office for a brief meeting on the Island Peak itinerary. During the session, you will also know the team and members of the expedition. Next, we will arrange and confirm papers, clothing, and equipment.

When that is over, we will go out on a sightseeing drive around Kathmandu. The historical capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, is full of world heritage sites. We will go after several, like Pashupatinath Temple, Monkey Temple, Basantapur Durbar Square, and Bouddhnath Stupa. It will be an explorative half of the day. After all of this, we will have a good night.

Day 03

Fly to Lukla(2610m) and Trek to Phakding(3,440m)

We will wake up excitedly in the morning to begin the trip. Filling our backpacks and having breakfast, we will drive towards the airport in the morning. We will hop on a 30 minute scenic Lukla flight from the airport. Our aircraft will then touch down at the airport of Lukla.

As we land, we will start seeing amazing landscapes. We will leave Lukla once we prepare everything for the trek ahead. The path goes downwards from the town. We will pass via dense wood and sides of the Dudh Koshi River. Several small Sherpa villages will also pass by. We will walk across some suspension bridges, too, before reaching Phakding. It will be a short trek of just 3-4 hours. Overnight in Phakding.

Day 04

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar(3,440m)

It will be an even more exciting day to start because we are going to Namche Bazaar, the hub. After breakfast, we will leave Phakding by disappearing into a pine forest. We will find the Dudh Koshi River's banks and plenty of suspension bridges ahead. It will bring us to Monjo, the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park.

We will officially begin our walk into the park by showing our permits. As we move further, we will catch a refreshing sight of Mt Everest and others for the first time. Our walk will keep progressing across bridges. The path is moderately uphill throughout the day. One last uphill from a suspension bridge around 2 miles long is more challenging. We will pass the steep path and reach Namche Bazaar. The town will give us a fantastic aura. Overnight in Namche.

Day 05

Acclimatization in Namche Bazaar

It will be the first acclimatization day of the Lobuche Peak itinerary. Namche, a happening town, is a perfect location for that. There will be no rush today to leave the city. We will have breakfast at ease.

After some time, we will visit nearby locations to make the day good. If you say, we will visit Everest View Hotel for breakfast. It is one of the world’s highest-placed hotels. We can observe intriguing glimpses of EverestLhotse, and Ama Dablam.

Or/after, we can go to Khumjung and Khunde, the two dense Sherpa settlements. We will do something exciting before dawn. The evening vibes of Namche Bazaar are exceptional. We will come back to our hotel for the night.

Day 06

Trek to Tengboche(3,867m)

Now, it is time to leave Namche’s busy ambiance for a more serene one. We will take an uphill, which brings us high along the valley. Using the valley wall, we will hike on a straight trail. During this part, we will catch picturesque and clear views of the peaks. Ama Dablam will be the best-viewed one.

After enough walking on the up, the trail will begin to go downwards. The walk to the valley floor will be through lush vegetation. Gradually, we will reach the banks of the Dudh Koshi River yet again. We will walk across another suspension bridge. The path winds upwards right after the bridge. The uphill will be the last part of the walk as it finishes in Tengboche.

The place is the resting place of Tengboche Monastery, the largest in the region. We can observe a fantastic mountain panorama from the village. In several words, it will be a great end to the day.

Day 07

Trek to Dingboche(4,410m)

After a blissful evening, we will have Dingboche next on the route. The walk is longer than the last day. Thus, after breakfast, we will take blessings from the monastery and leave. The walk begins by entering the woods of conifers, rhododendrons, and birch.

Then the path will head downwards for some time to take us to Imja River. Passing via Debuche village, we will reach the banks of the Imja River, and we will enter the Imja valley by crossing the river. The walk will soon reach Pangboche, yet another Sherpa village of the trek. There is Pangboche Monastery in the town. We will have a short pause at the place. After this, we will travel upwards in the valley to reach Dingboche.

Day 08

Trek to Lobuche(4,950m)

Today we will reach Lobuche village, the guardian of Mt Lobuche. Our walk to the place begins on rough terrain. The walk is rough but not steep. We will spend the day walking gradually on the valley wall. Soon, we will reach the foothills of the Khumbu Glacier in Thukla.

The upcoming part is slightly demanding, and we must climb for around 45 minutes to arrive at Thukla Pass. There will be no rush. We can take some time to make sure we avoid any altitude problems. Upon completing the climb, we will have eye-catchy mountains in front. Then our walk continues alongside the glacier to eventually end in Lobuche village. We will catch Mt Lobuche in the backdrop of the hamlet.

Day 09

Trek to Everest Base Camp(5,364m) and Back to Gorak Shep(5,125m)

It is one good day of trekking where we will leave Lobuche for the beautiful thing awaiting us. Our walk will go along the glacier. The path is straight, with several short steep parts. Overall, it will be a comfortable walk. With every step ahead, the pictures will turn more and more quaint. There is a memorial site for climbers who lost their lives in the mountains.

From the site, we will progress ahead. There will be several tricky sections of ice. Watching the trail, we will keep moving until we find Gorak Shep. We will have rest and food there.

The trek is still on. We will leave our heavy bags at our teahouse and hike towards Everest Base Camp, which is quite near. It will be a hike of around 4 hours round. Walking alongside and near the Khumbu glacier, we will move to our destination. The trail is rough and slippery.

Soon enough, we will reach Everest Base Camp, a landmark colored by prayer flags. We will spend some time taking in the place’s ambiance. Then we will return to Gorak Shep via the same trail. A joyous night in Gorak Shep it will be.

Day 10

Trek to Kala Patthar(5,540m) and Return to Lobuche(4,910m)

It is another exciting day of the Lobuche Peak itinerary. Early in the morning, we will move upwards to Kala Patthar. If we want to see the sunrise, we have to come early. The hike is around 2 hours long. Gaining elevation slowly, we will reach the place. Once we arrive there, the region's astonishing vast panorama is observable. The sunrise view is even more magical. We will cherish the moment.

After that, we will return to Gorak Shep for breakfast and to leave for Lobuche. The walk will happen on the same route that goes along the glacier. It will be a descending hike of around 2-3 hours to reach Lobuche. We will have a relaxing night in Lobuche after a lengthy day.

Day 11

Trek to Lobuche Peak Base Camp(4950m)

The actual walk begins here. After a restful night, we will leave Lobuche village for the Lobuche Peak base camp. The initial phase of the walk is comfortable as it goes on a straight trail. After some time, the track will turn steep and rough. The course will get more tricky as we go higher.

We will cross the Lobuche Glacier and find a mesmerizing view of Thamserku and Cholatse peak. The upward walk will continue again. We will finish the 6-7 hours walk by reaching the base camp of Lobuche Peak. Upon arriving there, we will rest and have lunch at our campsite.

Following that, we will begin our climbing training. Our climbing guide will help us with the training. We will practice using harnesses, climbing boots, ice axes, ropes, zoomers, and other gear to fuel our confidence. Later, after training, we will eat dinner and sleep in our camp.

Day 12

Trek to High Camp(5,400m)

The next day, we will have a lovely wakeup in the foothills of the Himalayas. After waking up and having breakfast, we will begin our climb to Lobuche Peak High Camp. It will be a short but rough ascent of four hours.

Over the rocky and snowy moraines, we will use ropes, crampons, ice axes, boots, and other climbing gear. The climb could be more technical. We will reach the high camp on time. As expected, we will catch stunning displays of mountains. Our team will set up a tent for the night after getting there. We will eat our dinner and sleep early.

Day 13

Lobuche Peak Expedition(6,119m) and Return to Base Camp

Our day will begin quite early, around 1-2 AM. The climb is long, and there can be strong wind on the top during noon. Hence, we have to reach the summit early. By following the footsteps of our Sherpa guide, we will approach Lobuche Peak’s summit.

We will use fixed ropes, ice axes, and other essential gear to climb upwards. There will be nothing to worry about as our guide will be ahead of us. Moving on steep and snowy ridges, we will take on the heights. We must climb a 45 degree sloped hill to reach Lobuche Peak’s summit.

We will do that and reach the top. What a lovely feeling it will be. The apex offers a panoramic view of the whole region. We will enjoy every second on the top. After this ecstatic summit, we will first descend back to high camp. Then we will go to Lobuche Base Camp. The whole process will take us around 8-9 hours. We will have a worthwhile rest.

Day 14

Trek to Pangboche(3,930m)

We will wake up as successful climbers of Lobuche East Peak. With a proud feeling, we will start the day’s walk to Pangboche. Our climb and all the memories before this day will reflect as we head downwards. The walk will commence with an easy descent from the base camp.

While we walk ahead, we will view Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Pokalde, Kantega, and other peaks. After the downhill, we will reach a forest of juniper and rhododendron trees. The forest is at its best in Spring with a colorful blanket of Rhododendron blossoms. Wandering via forests gently, we will reach Pangboche village, the village of Pangboche Monastery. Our day will end with a walk around the monastery.

Day 15

Trek to Namche Bazaar(3,440m)

In the morning, we will have breakfast and leave for Namche Bazaar. The walk will begin by entering a forested area like the last day. Wandering through Rhododendron and Pine forest, we will have fresh and serene walking around the jungle.

Shortly, we will reach the riverside of the Dudh Koshi River. Using a suspension bridge, we will enter a pine forest. In the backdrop, we will have incredible vistas of peaks and valleys. The path forward is a winding one. Rambling on the winding but scenic trail, crossing Tengboche village, we will reach Namche Bazaar in the evening. We will have a fun time in the town.

Day 16

Trek to Lukla(2,800m)

Now we will be off from Namche Bazaar for Lukla. The trek will start with a rapid descent to the banks of the Dudh Koshi River. We will gradually reach the banks and then take a straight trail for a while.

The route will be the earlier one through forests of Sagarmatha National Park, sides of the Dudh Koshi Rivers, and several tiny sherpa villages. We will have a great walking time again on the trail. In this way, we will reach Lukla at dusk slowly to complete the whole walk. With a long breath of pride, we will have a memorable time in Lukla.

Day 17

Flight to Kathmandu

After a successful climb of Lobuche Peak and a great walk in the Everest Region, it is time to leave the place. In the morning, we will take a flight, a scenic one, to Kathmandu. The Lobuche Peak itinerary will bring us back to Kathmandu with a mind full of unforgettable memories of the expedition. Upon our landing, we will come to our hotel. We will rejuvenate ourselves by resting in the hotel. In the evening, we may wander around the streets of Kathmandu.
