Chitwan National Park Wildlife Tour

Spend one full program day in Chitwan, from a dawn birdwalk to an evening Tharu performance.

Ride a guided jeep safari of about 4 to 5 hours through grassland, sal forest and river edges, looking for one-horned rhinos.

Scan for tracks and dung with your guide, who reads signs of tiger, sloth bear and leopard even when the animals stay hidden.

Drift down the Rapti River in a canoe, with mugger crocodiles on the banks and kingfishers over the water.

Walk a forest trail with a naturalist, where allowed, to notice insects, plants and bird calls a jeep passes at speed.

Work through Chitwan's bird list: bee-eaters, drongos, woodpeckers, storks, herons, peafowl and red junglefowl are all regular.

Visit a Tharu village and watch a stick dance and music program in the evening.

Look out for the Gharial Conservation and Breeding Centre and Beeshazari Tal wetlands as optional stops

Watch riverside light at dawn and dusk from the hotel area.
