This trek reaches up to 3,710m at Muktinath. Although it is considered moderate, proper hydration and gradual ascent are important to avoid altitude sickness.
Some sections, especially between Tatopani–Jomsom–Muktinath, involve off-road driving. The journey can be bumpy but offers dramatic Himalayan landscapes.
The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) for clear mountain views and stable weather. Winter can be cold in Muktinath, and monsoon may affect road conditions.
This comprehensive equipment list covers everything you'll need for the expedition. Items marked with * can be rented in Kathmandu if needed.
