Tsum is a restricted zone: a licensed guide, a minimum of two trekkers, and the correct permits are legally required. Solo, independent trekking is not permitted.
There are no ATMs on the trail. Draw enough Nepali rupees in Kathmandu for the whole trek, plus a buffer.
Lodges in villages like Chumling and Chhokangparo are simple, with shared bathrooms and basic menus. Charging and hot showers cost extra where available.
