The Dhampus hike in Pokhara, Nepal, is a scenic trek that offers breathtaking views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail) mountains. The hike usually starts from Phedi, about a 30-minute drive from Pokhara, and takes around 2 to 3 hours of uphill walking through forests and traditional Gurung villages. Dhampus, at an altitude of about 1,650 meters, provides a peaceful atmosphere with stunning sunrise and sunset views over the Himalayas. The hike is moderate in difficulty and is ideal for those looking for a short yet immersive trekking experience with a blend of nature and culture.

I did the Dhampus hike near Pokhara and really enjoyed it. The trail is easy to moderate, going through lovely villages and terraced fields with great views of the Annapurna and Machhapuchhre mountains. The village itself is peaceful and the locals are friendly you even get to try some traditional Gurung food. It’s perfect if you want a nice half-day or full-day trek without too much effort. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Pokhara!
