Day 01
Arrival in Lhasa (3660m)
We can arrange your arrival in Lhasa from various locations. Whether you’re flying in from Kathmandu, Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Xian, or any nearby hub, your Tibetan guide will meet you at Gonggar Airport. After completing immigration formalities, you will be driven to Lhasa, which is about an hour away. Upon arrival at your hotel, you’ll check in and be advised to take some rest. To acclimatize to the high altitude, it’s important to drink plenty of fluids and take it easy.
Day 02
Sightseeing in Lhasa (3650m)
After breakfast, your guide will take you on a tour of Lhasa’s cultural highlights, starting with Sera Monastery, one of Tibet’s most famous monasteries, where you’ll gain insight into the key aspects of Tibetan Buddhism. Next, visit Norbulingka, the Dalai Lama’s summer retreat, completed in 1956. The palace is beautifully adorned with Tibetan carvings and paintings.
You’ll then explore the Jokhang Temple, a spiritual center for Tibetan Buddhists, followed by a visit to Barkhor Square, the lively hub of Lhasa, where you can experience local culture and shop for traditional Tibetan crafts.
Day 03
Sightseeing in Lhasa
After an early breakfast, your guide will take you to the Potala Palace, one of Tibet’s most iconic landmarks. The imposing structure of the palace stands majestically over Lhasa and offers a glimpse into Tibet’s royal history. Inside, you’ll be awed by intricate Tibetan murals, beautiful statues, and the tombs of the eight Dalai Lamas.
Next, visit Drepung Monastery, one of the largest and most important monasteries in Tibet. Here, you’ll witness monks and nuns engaged in religious chanting and discourses.
